Susan Zumbro
Susan holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has been working in the field since 2001.
Her approach is strengths based and person centered. One of her philosophies is that everyone is born uniquely perfect. It is through the unhealthy experiences we endure, as we develop that builds the layers that inhibits our light from shining through. So, it truly is, “what happened to you,” rather than “what’s wrong with you.” She creates a warm and safe atmosphere where clients are free to explore all aspects of their lives. Further, she provides support and guidance as clients become empowered and discover their unique strengths and skills in their journey to gain confidence in the process of healing, growth and recovery.
Susan believes that one of her most valuable offerings is through Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy (HCH). In HCH she can help her clients heal from trauma, without being re-traumatized, understand and heal emotional wounds, and remove blocks to actuating their best self.
She utilizes many research based modalities in talk therapy to help clients work through challenges and learn new skills that can reduce anxiety and depression, and increase empowerment. She believes that a person already has all their answers, wisdom and strength within themselves. It is her job, and privilege, to help them access those resources. She also believes that relationships are central to an enriched life, the most important being, our relationship we have with ourselves. She enjoys helping people achieve their potential and learn skills that will enhance their relationships and create their own unique, quality life.
